Oh well that's good thank youIt’s fine. You’ve got a wild caught tort that’s spent its life bouncing around rocks and hard surfaces. They get dinged up and look a little rougher than captive bred tortoises. They also are just naturally a bit lumpier looking than some other types of tortoises
If there is something flaky it’s probably old damage that will work itself off eventually. Keratin doesn’t grow back so there will likely be a ding. Just leave it alone.
On occasion you will see the keratin come off completely, leaving a white spot underneath. That’s bone and also normal. The keratin won’t grow back but this doesn’t hurt the tortoise. Just gives them the look of having lived a full life.![]()
