Well uhh... I ordered some cactus for my tortoises and I wasn't aware that 6lbs of cactus is like a whole lot of it... I think I have enough for the year. Well I was wondering if anyone has a good way to store it. In the fridge? Freeze it? Dark cool room... any ideas will be appreciated.
On a different question... would feeding pumpkin for greek and leopard tortoise be safe? Just as a treat.

You can pot some and grow your own and you can put it in the fridge or freeze it. Pumpkin for a treat is good for torts and they love it :)

Keep in a cool dry place for a month before planting. It'll grow from any angle.

I store mine in zipper bags in the fridge (crisper drawer) and feed often. Fajita strips or penny size to start.

Pumpkin is a heck of a laxative. Vets recommend it for clearing the pipes and weight loss for chubby puppies of all ages.

Six pounds is nothing...I'll go through that in 2 or 3 weeks. I store them in the firdge in a tupperware. If I'm gonna plant it, I leave it on top of my dryer for a week or so.

Hmm, thanks everyone! I don't know if planting will work right now.... it's getting cold out and soon there will be snow.
