Seen some posts on here that mention shower curtains as liners a lot but a few posts that also say trash bags work too. I just put a trash bag liner underneath my redfoots substrate today but am nervous about leaving him home with the heat lamp on tomorrow. Is this a fire/toxin hazard? Has anyone's tort tried to eat the liner before? Mine hasn't been known to munch on a lot of things that aren't food, so I may just be a little paranoid.

i tried a tarp and mine dug to the bottom and ate away at it so that may be a problem for you

On my first few enclosures I used thick black garbage bags stapled down to the bottom & up the sides. Then another piece of (tarp) plastic. I used some trim moulding & staples to seal the edges completely so no substrate or water could seep down. Then, a nice thick layer of substrate - no issues. The trick is to lay it down tightly, staple it in & all around & up the sides. Seal the top edges.

Good luck
