Are you getting an adult or hatchling?
Please follow the advice from this forum. Kenan does a lot wrong.
A hatching needs a closed chamber.

Hatchling . Gonna live indoor but next to a large open window next to direct sunlight .
Again, needs a closed chamber with high humidity. Being by a window can be dangerous as you can't control the temps of the heat or cold coming thru.
Also, screen and glass both block uvb.

Hello and welcome. I have a tip: Unless you have your heart set on an Indian for some reason, get a Burmese star instead. Much hardier, very outgoing and bold, same basic appearance as the Indian. They make a much better pet in my experience.

Whichever star you end up getting, give these threads a couple of read throughs. Most of the care info out in the world is all wrong and if you follow it, you'll be very upset and frustrated. Questions are welcome, but most everything is explained in these two threads:

An indian star tortoise is not a good beginner species as they are intolerant of mistakes. But, if their needs are met they are very hardy and active. If they are allowed to get too cool, they will generally get sick quickly and possibly die. The reason for a fully enclosed habitat is to ensure that you can maintain proper temperature and humidity 24/7, this is impossible with an open top enclosure in an air conditioned house.

The most important thing when buying a hatchling is who you get it from, and how they cared for it before selling it.

The only potential advantage to consider for Indian stars is that most will stay smaller than Burmese stars and thus need less space over time.

Indian stars are awesome, but definitely do your research before diving in. like others said, hatchlings need a closed enclosure to maintain steady conditions. open tops can lead to issues. also, be super picky about where you get your tort from - a healthy start is crucial. good luck and keep us posted!
