It was pretty hot today, 90+ degrees. These guys were just soaking up the sun and eating weeds, sniffing around in the dirt. They have super hyper sensitive noses, they can smell out anything

We had a high of 104. My torts were all active in the morning but wanted the shaded burrows well before noon.

Im in Fullerton, didnt know there was that much of a temperature difference between us. Gotta really watch the torts when it gets that hot

I bought some cinder block and caps today to make a tortoise bunker in the leopard pen. I'm going to dig down and bury it in hopes that it will offer a cooler hide since it had been so hot! Not sure how that will go..if I'll like it or if the tort will. If i it works out well then I'll make more..

FWIW I enjoy all this SoCal trash talking. I recently moved from Bev Hills to Toluca Lake in the San Fernando Valley and I feel like I've moved to the surface of the sun this week. It may be good tort weather but it's not good human weather. Someone build ME a burrow.
I wish it was like that here, barely hit 50 today! Maybe not quite a 104 but definitely warmer than 50..
