I have had this tortoise, Lita, for about 15 years. She was a rescue and the lady just told me she was a Greek. Recently I decided to try my hand at breeding her but I cannot find a male Greek that looks like her. I don't want to breed her to a Greek if she is not a Greek. She is 8" wide and 8" long. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you for your help!

The photos make it a little difficult to really see the animal clearly but it looks to be Testudo graeca ibera of the southern form. This subspecies is commonly called the "ibera Greek" or more correctly the Asia Minor tortoise.

Thank you for taking time to look and respond. I appreciate it. I took the pics with my tablet that's why they suck :)

Hi Sabrena, and a very warm welcome to the forum!:)

I am not a tort expert, but it doesn't look like a Greek tort to me. I have a Greek tort, and yours is in NO way similar to mine. Better wait and see what the experts say.;)
