So I have this as my new set up... two lights

1 arcadia 39w with reflector approx 50cm away and more on the basking end. I assume this is sufficient for not only uvb but also uva? This is on for 5 hours a day

2 a standard led strip light for general lighting its 6500k I've heard full spectrum mentioned but not sure what that actually covers. This is on for 12hrs a day

I also have two ceramic heat lamps one either end one for basking 36c and one to keep cool end more towards the 25c and both used at night for ambient levels of 22c

Gonna be hard to get all on ceiling not in way of each other either.

Any comments or advice appreciated.

Hello!
Sounds right, yet you need to "squeeze in" a basking lamp as well. Ceramic heaters are good for maintaining ambient temperature, but heat lamps are more intense and directional heat sources, better suited for basking areas. You will need an incandescent, non-halogen flood lamp (like Arcadia Solar Basking Floodlight or ProRep Flood Spot). Depending on enclosure size, you may leave only one ceramic heater and reuse the second dome for the heat lamp.

What's the enclosure size now?
For 4x2x2 ft. (120x60x60 cm) it's better to have two ceramic heaters for even heat distribution (for 6x3 and 8x4 - even more or use radiant heat panels).

What type of Arcadia tube? 12%, or 6%?

What tortoise species?

I agree with what Alex said about the basking lamp and CHEs.

For 6x3 you will need a couple of ceramic heaters. Or just use the tube heater, if it works for you (I've heard a couple of times that they aren't warm enough but it could be just placement/wattage/insulation issues)

Yeh I've been using the tube heater in my current viv and its worked quite well so I brought the bigger version just got to wait till temp drops to see if its ok or need another lamp.

Tort is an Indian star and its a 12% t5 tube set at 42cm from torts level. I've set it up more towards the basking spot.
