My tortoise has been diagnosed with a cornia ulcer, I have been advised to put my tort in newspaper , I have done this but he's eating it?
What is a cornia ulcer?
Is he going to lose his eye?
How do you feel with regards to him on newspaper, because I think it's bad...
Any tips?
Thanks soo much image.jpg

An ulcer on the cornea just means that he's suffered a slight injury to the eye. I'm sure the vet gave you some ointment to put on the eye???? Just use the ointment as directed and the eye will heal. It may take a very long time because tortoises are slow healers, but it will be ok.

If you want to provide some humidity you can pack moistened sphagnum moss inside the hiding place.

Oh, wow! I didn't even see that in the picture. THAT just might be what caused the ulcer on the eye. You've got a good eye "Charliethetortoise."

Yes, I didn't catch the coil bulb either, replace with just about any tube type bulb. If he is eating the newspaper, I would prob go without any at the moment, though when you say eating, is he just taking a few bites here or there, or chowing down on it?

He is trying to eat it and taking little bits, he appears to have stopped now he realises that it doesn't taste nice

Well if he is just sampling it, then don't worry, as you have seen, if it doesn't taste good, odds are he will stop trying to eat it.
