I’ve starved my hermann tortoise for 3 weeks now. He’s ready for hibernation however the temperatures outside are still too warm (12 degrees) and he hasn’t slowed down at all. He’s a small hermann he weighs 970g.
I’m not sure whether to start feeding him again and hibernate him later in the year but I’m worried he will lose too much weight if I do this. Any suggestions?? I’m worried as what to do as I can’t seem to find any answers anywhere.

It has been very warm .... but it is getting colder. My view is if you have gone this far continue as we have had frost and under 10 Deg temps
