Hi. I am new to this forum and I have an 11 year old Salcata Torrtise named Bruce. Our yard backs up to a large “ green belt “ which is acres with thick brush.
I have searched all over and have not found the best way to attach a GPS tracker to his shell. If anyone has safe ideas for this endeavor please let me know.
appreciate very much

The problem is where to put the tracker so it doesn't get scraped off. I have not personally tried to attach one, but use Tile trackers all the time on purse, tablet, keys, etc.

If Bruce digs and has a burrow, it's especially difficult to place. Even if he doesn't burrow, it's still hard to find a spot on him that doesn't get scraped, banged into, submerged in water, or caught onto branches, lawn furniture, etc.

The only place it has a chance of staying is where you have his paper tag attached, or better yet, that big anal scute above his tail. I've never seen any tracker that conforms to a surface...they all are stiff, which makes them easy to get caught on something. Tile does have some smaller stick on trackers you could try. I would never trust the stick on, but the size might work well.

People that have done this have used different types of glue, but they leave the tracker in place all the time, invariably to be lost at some point.

I think the best method of tracking is tying a balloon on them, or a long piece of shiny ribbon. They can get torn off, but at least you won't be out $20.
