How to know the age?

Okay okay, just ask him his hatch date because without knowing this date all you can do is guess and even that is a stab in the dark.

Ive seen some small tortoises that you would think are only a year or two old when in fact they were 10 years old and just not house correctly. Then you have the other side of that coin. I've got a 150 lb sulcata that is only 11 years a old. He's just a big boy for that age. Of your tort is full grown there is absolutely zero way to guess its age.

Post up a few pics and the really smart tortoise people will help you. I just give smart *** answers ;)

Is it by the size or any other parameter?
Very good question! Unfortunately, without a hatch date, we can only guesstimate their age. Knowing a bit of the tortoise's history might help, but you can never know for sure.
