I would carefully try raising the ambient temperature now that he is unwell. Many people recommend 29c day and night for sick tortoises.
Is there anything else I can try?
I would recommend raising the temperature to 31-32C and keeping it constant day and night. Also I would leave your Arcadia light on for 14 or 15 hours daily (IE, 7 or 8 AM to 10 PM).

Hi,
Sorry I have just seen, Ive had a very stressful week with a lot going on.
Twigs is still going, he has these last two days attempted to eat, pulling neck back and out again probably however gives up after 3 or 4 goes.
His eyes are also opening in the bath so I am hopeful he is in the mend!
I will let you know when he is successfully eating again and I am keeping everything crossed it is soon, thank you for keeping in touch

We always love to hear updates. Cases like this one really stay in the back of the mind. Hoping for the best outcome!
Thank you, I will certainly update if he eats or the worst happens, his eyes do look better so that is improvement, I am keeping up with the 3 x daily carrot babyfood,CCF and reptoboost baths.

Im so glad to read he’s taking baby steps in the right direction!! Nothing happens fast with these guys, so though recovery can feel frustratingly slow, this is really hopeful to hear! Certainly keeping you in my thoughts❤️

Hi all!
Twiglet has eaten today!! Eyes are open, a slight bit of visible third lid but so much better!
Thank you to everyone who has given me advice.
If anyone else gets this issue it shows it can get better and to stay patient.
Now he is eating again I am wondering is there any different foods to help up his weight?

Oh! I'm so happy for you and him! Maybe little fella just trying to brumate each year...

Various tortoise pellets mixed with greens 1-2 times a week should help him to gain some weight. E.g. Mazuri (NutraZu) Tortoise Diet (any kind - LS or "classic" 5M21) or Hikari Mulberific. And, of course, correct environment - temperatures, lightning and humidity - plays a huge role. Calcium and vitamin supplements are also important.

Thank you!
I have some pellets but he has never shown a interest in them, Ill try maybe putting them onto his greens after soaking them.

Should I keep the night time temperature raised for now please or would you drop it now hes eating?

Oh I’m so happy to see this!! Well done! No for now I’d keep it as is, especially now we’re heading into winter, if not wanting to brumate him he needs to stay nice and warm and well lit during the day🥰
