I have a hatchling and it's cold here in Missouri, so this question isn't for anytime soon, but whenever it gets warm out again I hope to put the little dude outside. How do I keep an outdoor enclosure humid? Just a ton of moss and cypress mulch? Do I keep the enclosure closed off like I do inside to retain humidity?

It CAN get super humid here, but it's not guarunteed or consistant.

Hatchlings and babies are better off indoors 24/7 where you are in control.

Redfoots are creatures of the forest floor where temperatures don't drop below 80F day and night and humidity is very high indeed. When your tort is sub-adult... 400g or so... and if you have both the temperatures and the humidity ... then your tort can go out

After he gets to be 4 or 5 years old, lots of plants that you water frequently, a misting system and there is no need to close it off.
