Looks like Hollyhock but has no blossoms just grows bigger and bigger with big leaves.

What is it and is it safe to eat?

I always thought mallow grew smaller leaves. This grows like cantaloupe sized leaves eventually. But no blossom. Can mallow get that big? Wow!

There is a nasturtium leaf to the right in the first picture (in case you didn't know) which is peppery but edible.
Given time the plant in question will flower if you can wait. It is definitely a flowering plant.
BTW, beautiful redfoot.

Ok, thanks, I've just never seen it flower in past years. Yes, I planted the nasturtium and my Reds haven't tried nibbling it at all. I've tried it though! You're right, it's kinda spicy like radish!

I agree that that's mallow. I grew common mallow both inside and out. The ones indoors grew 1" sized leaves. The ones that were transplanted or grown from seed outdoors have much larger leaves (3"+). Great find!

Looks like mallow to me, my father in law has it all over his yard and I have seen some pretty big leaves on his. Mine all came from his house and until it matures they will stay pretty small.
