I really feel for you. I have a baby Hermann, just ten months old. I can’t imagine how I would feel if I lost him.

I know the deep regret/remorse of having a couple horrible mistakes in my past.
My life got in the way and time got away from me in those cases.
but key to this was YOU HAD NO INTENTION OF HARMING THEM.
you obviously have a big heart, and great compassion, and you of course won't make that mistake ever again.
Herrmans are wonderful tortoises. Please don't give up.

so sorry about your loss. Something similar happened to me when I was young and had some Box turtles outside under a tree. The shade moved and they got over heated. It is hard, but like said, you have learned a valuable lesson and can go on from here.
