Haha. Female Sulcata Mimi rammed the gate open in her own that leads to the garden. Straight for the hedge of opuntia.

Oh yep there she is.

Munching down on some Guinea grass and fallen variated opuntia pads. All the turtles and tortoises go crazy over this variety.

Back you go. My workers have given her a mound of grass and some pads.

I can't tell whether she's embarrassed - or enjoying - the "car ride"! ;)

What's wrong, is you thought you had her contained. They, tortoises in general will always keep you on your toes

That's why I placed all the latches and clasps down low on my bigger tortoise's doors.

Cute! Glad she can't escape! I never thought a wagon would look so small... ;)

Well only took 8 months her to figure it out, but yeah none the less going to have to do something different at that gate. But soon enough they will be in a huge enclosure and won't want to escape.

That's what you think! :D
Well yeah. But this one I plan to be twice the size of the 175'x80' one they were in Dallas. We're quite fine in that one without digging, or escape attempts for almost 10 years. They're just cooked up in the 50'x30' one now, too small. I really don't know how some people keep this species in a standard backyard. I couldn't handle it under those conditions for sure.
