Found in my yard post hurricane Milton

It is a Florida Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina bauri). Probably originated in your area or not too far from it.

If you have woods near you, I think you could release there provided you don't keep it for more than a day or two.

Yes, it's native so leave it be to find it's way into the wild.
