Hi I was offered this turtle from a friend. He got it 12 years ago so it's full grown. He was told its a yellow belly cooter, which isn't even a type of turtle lol. I think there there is definetly some slider in it looking at the spots on the outside of the plastron. Looks like a red bellied cooter to me.

Maybe a mix between pseudemys and trachemys spec?

That's what I figured but what type of slider/ cooter?

It's a Cumberland slider. Not a cooter or a hybrid


The red bottom is simply staining from its enclosure or iron staining from the area it was captured
