Most likely an Eastern. A photo of the plastron would be helpful.

I'm not seeing inguinal scutes so looks like you have a Dalmatian tortoise. Definitely not a western hermanns.

I'm wondering if you've got a Testudo hermanni hercegovinensis (Dalmation subspecies)...quite a bit of black on the plaston for a boettgeri, but not so much to think hermanni, plus the carapace is not as intensely colored as most T.h.h.

Haha! Is the species different from a eastern hermann? I hope what I have been doing for him is still correct?

No, care is pretty similar for any of the 3 (some consider there being 4) subspecies...what's right for one subspecies is right for the others.

One of my 4, Jennifer, seems to be a cross between the Eastern and the Dalmation, and for quite a while the Eastern and Dalmation were considered to be one and the same...not sure exactly when those who decide such things declared them different.
