Yesterday, we had my son out playing in his kiddie pool for the first time, so I decide to let Kobe wander about and graze in the yard. That he did. Here's a few shots I snapped of him. I was happy that he started grazing readily and seemed to enjoy the space, as this area will eventually become the spot for his permanent enclosure when he outgrows his current one.

Cool! Believe it or not, when I looked at those pix, I could hear the theme music from Bonanza running through my head. I am excited for Kobe! :)

Watch out; it's amazing how fast a tortoise can slip away when you get distracted. I decided to stake up some tomatoes one year, and by the time I realized my tort was missing, he'd crossed the busy intersection up the road and was making tracks for the tall grass around the lake. Whew! Close one. I don't know how he made it across that intersection alive.

Now I tie a balloon around him, taping it to the plastron so it won't slip off and can see where he is at a glance.
