Leopard Tortoise hatchling has bump on beak

This is my 3 weeks old leopard tortoise hatchling. It has a bump on the beak. My sulcatas didnt have one when I got them as hatchlings also. They say its a tooth used by the hatchling to break the egg open, is this true? Just wanted to confirm if this is normal or not.

Yes, that is the egg tooth. It’s very normal. That baby is very young though so definitely follow the guides here on the best way to raise them to give you the best possible chance for success

It looks like a fairly prominent egg tooth. It should disappear in a few more weeks.
