Just a fun thread, as I am curious myself to see what others have come up with to give their tortoise the best and most natural living environment within their enclosure.

Alright guys and gals, I posted my initial table set up pics in my introduction thread yesterday and since reading a few guide links everyone was so nice to provide me...here is my baby sulcata's table since changing bedding to cypress mulch and putting up plastic sheeting humidity control.20160818_112906.jpg 20160818_121804.jpg

That looks awesome! I haven't used a computer so for whatever reason it won't let me post what I've been using. But, try using eco earth or COIR I believe it's called for humidity. It'll help cut back on all the Cyprus mulch and keep even more humidity in. :)

Here is my temporary outdoor pen since AnnaBelle is still a baby. She has a hide box in upper left corner though it's difficult to see since it's black. This is only used for great weather days. She's in house at night and any yucky days.

Today I tried a cheaper alternative to Eco Earth. Instead of 10 dollars on three bricks I said forget it and went to Lowe's in search of a good bedding. I read that multiple of people use an organic top soil. So I got a 5 pound bag for 3 bucks and so far he loves it. Also. I went out and bought a new fixture and a new bulb. It's called Solar Glo bulb. Produces uVA UVB and heat all in one. Supposedly the best bulb on the market. And so far Chewie enjoys the soil. It still holds in moisture for humidity but I might purchase a humidifier for addition humidity until he's bigger. For some reason I still can't upload files or pictures from my phone sadly. But for all who posted their enclosures I love the ideas and time that went into them!

What type of wood is the enclosure made of? Is it treated or? I heard that treated wood chemicals can drain into the substrate and Cam cause the tortoise or animal to get sick. But it's only something I heard.

Can't quite take a picture from an angle that gets his whole enclosure in! This was taken last weekend when we'd fitted a new shelf for some extra plants which have been wrapped in sphagnum moss (this creates a nice little hide area too which Aristotle loves!). He certainly loves to get amongst all his new plants.

We've also now installed an automated 'rain system' which will rain for a short amount of time when ever the humidity drops below 80%. On top of that it rains warm water in the event that Stottie is out and about.
