Does the mazuri diet company make one for just tortoises, I was at our local feed store and the had some but it was labeled exotic diet. And does it come in a smaller size it's not like I'm feeding a horse or sulcatta.

As far as I know ... it comes in one size, Although after you soak it ( I use warm water) ...it turns to mush anyhow. Even small torts are able to Chow down".

I've read on the tortoise trust that they don't reccommended using pre made diets instead use greens and stuff so has anyone had pyramiding or other health problems on a mixed mazuri and greens diet?

Yes they make one specifically for tortoises. They also make diets for lots of other types of animals and you probably saw a bag for one of those. As far as I know they only make one type and size for tortoises. And as JD noted it gets real squishy when you soak it for a minute or two.

"Mazuri" is a company or brand name. They manufacture foods for all kinds of different animals, even for ponds. I buy Mazuri Pot Bellied (elder) pig diet. So what you want to ask for is called Mazuri Tortoise Diet. See if you can find someone else who has tortoises, and share a bag. If you package it up in smaller plastic zip lock bags, you can stick them in the freezer and no harm will come to it.

Mazuri is a maker of Purina, who make the dog food. There is Mazuri just for tortoises and I know there is of great debate on this. I give it during the winter months and occasional to supplement, they seem to do very well with it. I think they grow well and doesn't effect their shells negatively. I feed my torts many things though, mostly grass, weeds, and flowers. I can only speak for the fact that I feed them once in awhile Mazuri and it's great.

Any opinions as to optimum number of days a week to offer it to young torts (4-5" Europeans)? Once a week, w/ greens? Twice a week w/ greens?

I'd like to introduce/get 'em used to it while there's plenty of other stuff also available that's good for them, so that if I can't get much quality feed come winter, they'll have the Mazuri to tide them over...last winter, about all available in our tiny town was iceberg lettuce, frozen mixed veggies, and Timothy and/or "native" hay, but at that time all I had to feed was a 25# sulcatta, so soaked hay and a little bit of thawed frozen veggies (well supplimented w/ powdered vitamins) got her through.
