Missing scale

When I woke up this morning and go check on my tort, I found that a piece of scale on its head had fallen off. That scale had been hanging onto its original spot for months and movable. I didnt try to pull it off as that could hurt my tort.

This is how it looks like now. Will the scale grow back or will it stay like this forever? It's not expressing any signs of discomfort, it can eat and walk normally, and when I lightly tap that spot it's not retracting its head either, but should I still go see a vet?

Oh about that. I took it for a walk under the summer sun for about 45 minutes, that's why it looked dry at that moment. The terrarium is constantly at 90-100% humidity. I also soak it on a daily basis.
