Montezuma is almost 8 months old!

He's growing slowly but surely, and now he's 110 g. Is this a normal growth rate?

We plant grasses and clover seeds but he's only interested in the sprouts. He gets grasslands food, kale and dandelion greens as a treat, and we just recently introduced him to Mazuri.

hes cute from what I can tell, the pics are sideways, or is it just me?

Just you:D

Looking good btw. However, if you put a top on that enclosure and get the humidity up where it should be, which is 80% with temps no lower then 80, you can get him to start growing smooth. He does have some pyramiding going on. Check out Toms threads below. The second one is how to raise a smooth healthy sully.

You're right that he's pyramiding a little bit. We do soak him daily, mist his container frequently, and keep the substrate wet so it's always evaporating.

How do I cover it? The tupperware he's in came with a top that I still have, but it would melt in the heat. If I cut a hole in it, not much humidity will be retained. I live in New England and have to keep a ceramic heat emitter on at night to keep the temps up, so covering at night wouldn't work either.

He has the logs, which he spends a good amount of time in. Maybe I should strap a sponge to inside.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback!

I would get a larger tote, one that has the taller sides. Then use the lid, cut the holes big enough just so the bulb or CHE can shine or heat through the hole. Line the rim of the hole with tin foil. That prevents the plastic around the hole from melting. That's what I did with my Leo to help keep in humidity. I too had pyramiding. A Humid hide should help, but it seems the best results come from the ones that uses more then just a humid hide, from what I have seen on here anyway.
