I was sitting around trying to think of a way I could have a portable outdoor play yard for my RF and it hit me. My grandmas's old puppy yard. So yesterday while I was there I got it and brought it home. This morning I opened it up and flattened the bent parts and PRESTO instant homemade inexpensive outdoor play yard! It's very plain but I'm sure she won't mind

Uh...did you forget who you are talking to? lol....it would cost me 500 dollars a month in water cost to have part of my property like that....lol

And cool easy quick sunning spot.....you don't worry about the top being open for such a little thing? Did you secure the enclosure to the ground so the little bugger can't escape? (OCD member here )

I went over to my son's house one day (a few years ago, before they moved to Texas) and it was garbage day. So he had stuff out at the curb for pickup. Can you imagine? He actually had one of those portable dog kennels at the curb to throw away. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with it, other than the dog had grow up. So now I have 6 of them. They really come in handy. I'd NEVER, NEVER throw one away.

No it was a test run to see how she did I spied on her the whole time she was in there we don't have a problem with any birds of prey that I know of and I don't ever see any cats. I was looking for something I could put her in while I was outside witches but I'm thinking I'm going to get something for the top of it. However I'll probably just build something better up off the ground with plants growing inside. This I suppose will work until that project gets underway.

Psssh who NEEDS a lawnmower when u have a Tort? aren't they like the new cooler version something that'll eat your grass and u can love at the same time?

I love it! My hubby built a similar pen, only it had wire on the top too and a wooden board in the middle to keep the two different torts apart, but my RT is too much of a digger, and needless to say my Sulcata has outgrown it. It worked great for two summers though. Nice find!
Oh yeah, and the grass looks fine. Wish I had grass already. It's just snow, pine needles and mud right now. (;

Lol it's been growing for a few months now our yard looms horrible. When I decided I was getting a tortoise is was like well no use mowing the lawn now but I don't think most of it's edible anyway so we're probably gonna cut most of it. If I remember tomorrow i'll take a pic of the back yard to show how over-grown it is

I did, but that was back in the day of trying to make the husband (ex one now) happy at the cost of giving up the tortoises. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.
