It may stop tomorrow but it may not so going to get a spare one!

Just wanted to ask what WATT and etc i need, have one atm but no info on it as pet shop just gave it me... here in UK they mainly sell the extra terra ones (think thts the name)

I agree with betts...Trex 100 watt or 160...I'd use the 100 for a smaller enclosure...don't be so worried about it. They can go without UVB lights for a while without any damage....Just use a 100 watt incandescent bulb for basking until you get your bulb...

Kymiie, are you using a MVB or a florescent UVB lamp? MVB (Mercury Vapor Bulbs) last about 12-18 months before they lose the effects of the Ultra Violet rays. Florescent bulb lose the effect of the Ultra Violet rays in about 6 months. Florescent come in 2,5,8 and 10 I would recommend an 8 or 10 for a desert type tort. MVB come in watts 60,100 and 160 are the most common. I use the 100 watt MVB and the 8 or 10 Florescent for my Greeks. Though this is important your tort will not expire if it is without a uvb bulb for a couple of days. So if your title gets any comments that is why. We scan for titles like this for life threatening illness. Not to say your thread, or the question you had is not important, Just a friendly reminder in the future you might want to add re; lights in your title ,so the rest of us don’t panic. :)
