Just got a breeder pair of northern redfoots from Terry K.They are beautiful and heavy as rocks! They were both feeding with my others within the hour.Shortly thereafter,my antique male gave the new female a housewarming gift. The new male was chasing my females all over like a kid in a candy store! Thanks, nerd for the great torts. You're definately doing something right.

Congrats on the new tribe members! Am I reading correctly, you placed the new ones right in with your older group?

I'm pretty sure that Terry's tortoises aren't sick, but you really should quarantine ALL new animals.

Thank you Jeff!

A few pics from last summer..

Big MALE - 11+" SCL -

You can see the color and patterns all over his head and nose -

She was raised from a '98 hatchling.. and unfortunately the little "care" info available back then was totally wrong [ all tortoises are the same - low protein/humidity and high lights ] so she is "bumpy" but nobody cares - she/they make beautiful babies! FEMALE Beauty - 12+" SCL -

Those great 'mango-yellow' colors -

"Most" of the pics of any of mine have some of their blood in them!

Hope that continues for you, but it is wise to do some quarantine time for new animals, no matter where they come from or how they look. Sorta a better safe then sorry type mentality thing.
