Boris, of course. It does take them awhile to settle in. Make sure his basking area is around 95, cool side 70.
Yes, soak him in warm water every day for 15" for a week or so, then 1-2 times per week based on how he is doing. They are often a bit dry when you first get them.
You can spritz his greens too so they get extra water.
