Hey guys, I just moved my tortoise into a much bigger vivarium and I have a quick question. In the new setup I added two basking spots — is that a problem? One reaching 95F and another 98F-100F
I didn’t put too much decoration inside the vivarium so she has more space to move around, and I haven’t added any hiding spots yet.
She seems a bit stressed and keeps walking around instead of stopping to bask for example. She is eating, but she doesn’t seem very comfortable yet!

Do you guys recommend to give her a hiding spot or is not necessary ?

Hello! Two basking spots are usually an overkill. Providing a temperature gradient and hiding spots is more beneficial. You can fix plant pots to the walls (pothos and ferns are usually low-growing and provide good shade) or bury hides in substrate to conserve walking space.

Lovely looking set up! I do agree with Alex that two basking spots aren’t really necessary, I’d definitely provide some hiding area too yes, thanks for sharing!🐢💚
