I'm new, i need help!

[/font]Hi! I'm a semi-new red foot tortoise mom.

This is Minnie and she's 6 months to a year old..

I do not know if you're able to tell the sex by this age, but here are some photos and it would be greatly appreciated if somebody could help me to determine..

Your tort is far too small to sex. You'll have to wait until it's 5-10 years old for anything like a reliable sexing... patience is required I'm afraid

Hello and WELCOME . Sorry, too young to tell. Unfortunately, it takes a long time to tell. Unless of course, it's a male, and he flashes his you-know-what sooner then later. However, that will most likely still be a long while.

Thats a good looking tort, seems pretty smooth. How are you keeping him now that you have him? remember redfoots need a lot of humidity.

Welcome! Good looking redfoot. Your little Minnie is I would say around 1-2 years old. Just a guess. There's really no certain way to tell unless you know the hatch date. As far as sexing still too young. It would be a wild guessing game. With proper care in redfoots you can get a better idea on their sex in a couple more years, but 4-5 years would be optimum. I'm just going out on a limb and going to say female.

How are you keeping it, humidity helps when raising them.
Sorry unforuntally your little tort is too small to sex, it usually takes 5-10 years when adulthood
