Stool frequency is usually based on what and how much they eat. Three days isn't a serious problem. I think the closest way I can describe the stool is it sorta looks like a small soft tootsie roll. (sorry I don't have a picture of it to show you) Easy for the stool to get mixed in to the bedding and thus not get noticed. Your tortoise may even eat it's own stool at times.

I have a group of Russian tortoises that I call "The Fecal People" for the obvious reason that they POOP!!! A LOT!!

Give your little guy some cactus. And even though he doesn't like to soak, a good long soak NEVER FAILS to make the poop come out. Put him into a tub of warmish water and just leave him there for a half hour or so. He'll settle down after a bit.

If the water doesn't work, then clean the cage totally out...lol. Have you ever noticed how animals of all types always have to eliminate wastes the second you get there areas cleaned? :D :D Taking them for car rides works well, too.

You need to take some deep breathes and relax. Your doing fine by this tort.. Give her some time to settle in and yourself some time to adjust to having torts. Both of you will be just fine.

I hope so, I would not say she eats like a pig because she doesn't run to her food when i put it out, takes awhile for her to go for it, I think she was dehydrated when I got her, she is going to the vet soon, appoitment is being made today. Thanks, I guess I'm just really worried.

If she was dehydrated when you got her, then she may be a bit slow to eliminate for that reason. Nature will have them keep waste matter inside longer, so they don't waste the liquids found in it. With dehydration being the case, even if she really doesn't like those soaks, you need to be requiring her to have them...at least til you know she is hydrated well again. I know some don't like doing the 15-20 warm soaks because it can stress the tort, but I feel it's less of a problem then the often deadly results coming from dehydration.

What are you feeding her?

It's okay to worry about her and it shows a lot of positive things about the future care of this lucky tort. Your doing great.

Shes eating all kinds of things, When I first got her she had some dandelion, clover, and some radish leaves. She has had rose of sharon leaves and flowers, as well as hibiscus leaves and some fig leaves. I dont think shes very picky. I fed her some romaine yesterday as I mowed the lawn and with it all the weeds. She actually just pooped after i gave her an extra long soak in the bath-tub about 35minutes. Shes warming up under her light right now, and i think today ill go see if theres any surviving weeds. Thankful that shes healthy and no impaction.

When I got her, her shell was very very dry, and I dont think she had drunk anything for awhile. She was shipped then immidieatley given to me so no down time.
