Several years ago I took in a group of 13 CDT hatchlings from a chapter of the California Turtle and Tortoise Club. A couple of them had a very orange hue to their shells, so I kept them and adopted out the others. Well, DARN IT, I'm rubbish at finding anything inour 'search' feature, so I can't find the thread showing them as hatchlings. I wanted to show you all what they (well I could only find one of them) look like now:

They are the absolutel prettiest specimens of CDT that I've ever seen (if I do say so myself). They spent their first couple years in the Vision cage (closed enclosure), then graduated to an outside yard about 10x10? 12x12? something like that (empty now):

They brumated winter before last and this past winter, and when they woke up spring of 24 the were put out into the CDT yard:

This is a VERY large yard and they are the only two tortoises in it. You really shouldn't keep them in pairs, but the yard is big enough that they each have their own territory. There's a shelter in deep shade under the mulberry treet, and water, of course.
