My Russian was not always a picky eater. First year I got him he ate the dandelion and plantain leaves from my untreated yard all summer! We are going into his third year with us and this spring is the pickiest he’s ever been. He lives inside and eats grocery store greens through winter. So there’s a chance he got addicted to romaine etc. It’s been a cold spring here in WI. But the first few nice days he chowed down on dandelion flowers and violets. Fast forward a few weeks and he’s not even interested in those, and forget about eating leafy weeds in his indoor cage anymore! He refuses. He has gotten a clean bill of health from the leading reptile vet in our state this past winter and is still very active and behaving normally.
