We have missed the sound of running water at the Cove’ so a little pond with falls’ was due. I put this together in day and here are the results……..

Once things grow in around the surround it should blend in .......
" Oh No .... Do I need a turtle now? " :p

Okay, I know you are very talented, have a great eye for decorating, painting, colors, raising beautiful torts and growing beautiful flowers. I just am not buying you a the Incredible Hulk and are picked up those big boulders and moving them into place. So, what are they really made out of:p :D
Oh, yes, a couple fish and a turtle and some beautiful pond flowers are a must isn't it?:D
BTW, I should of paid you to come and build my shed. My builders, taking a week, so far, for a 3 day job. The job, wow, more nails missed its target then that made it:(

Oops, almost forgot. Beautiful job on the pond:)

NICE! Just a few things I thought knowledge wise I would pass on for you. I am unsure if you did it however, I have that filter other then the fact mine has a fountain spray top. A couple things I have learned is you need to get is something the control the alga if its in the sun any amount of time.....it will grow fast if not. The other thing to help keep it from getting bad is to put in floating plants....blocks out some of the sun to keep down the alga and several bloom so its pretty as well. Now didn't read where you are however, if you are in an area that freezes in the winter a great fish to add if you decide would be regular or fan tailed goldfish. They grow great in a small pond like that as well as they help keep down mosquito larva. Then again if it freezes there most people don't realize it but they can freeze solid in the winter and come right back to life in the spring. SERIOUSLY! The trick is to stop feeding them when the water temp gets down to 55 degrees F and don't feed them again until its over that in the spring. So they sort of go into like a hibernation like mode and it doesn't bother them at all.

Anyway, NICE pond! If your like me you love it. ;)

Oops forgot to say not that I most likely need to with a knowledgeable tortoise owner however, on the turtle go for it. However, at that size make sure its a SMALL one that stays small. Secondly like your torts you will need to put up a fence for it or they will run off and you need to put screen over top to keep predators out such as hawks, skunks, raccoons etc....etc.

Thanks for the tips…..
Yer right about filters… I prefer UVB, along with a “ sweet water” filter system. ( this will rid 90% of most "Bad" Algae’s , you need some for balance of PH and H2o)The duck weed and mosquito fish keep things “ in tune” we don’t have coon‘s in So Cal :D. This is a smaller 90 gal …. Deco , more for sound .....although here are some “ ponds from my past” all which I have built along with the “ Human Pond” ….and suspended bridge ....:p

Barb … the rock is called Feather rock (FR) it is a type of lava rock. Much like a volcanic glass. It can be very sharp. The larger boulders are a tad bit heavy … what you see in the pic is 600lbs. Of rock. To make this pond/fall pieces. I moved them myself … using some old tricks of the trade and of course the dolly … one of the hardest things was dropping them from the lifted truck. Along working with them you get scratched up a bit ….too!
I wish ya lived closer I would be happy to help ya build …..:D

Love it Jeff. Now you need a little Southern Painted in there and it will be finished. I miss my pond too and am thinking....thinking...thinking...where would be a good spot.

JD, you are a very talented guy! It is hard to believe what you can put together and it is all beautiful!
Everytime I see a picture of " The Cove" I think of a sanctuary.
One more time; good work!
You know you have to get a turtle!
:)
