I haven't seen a poop from my red foot in two weeks. I'm hoping he's been pooping and I just haven't seen it, and that he ate it.

Is there a way to tell if that's the case? If he's constipated what should I do?

Not sure if you have tried this or not, but a good long soaking (~15 minutes) in warm water almost always gets my torts pooping.

Chances are, he ate it after he passed it. As long as he continues to act normal, there is really nothing to worry about.

Salutations ~

As Greg noted, a good long warm water soak will usually get a tort 'going', so you might want to give that a try. If he is eating well, still active & warm, chances are that AKelly is right, and he's just chowing down on it.. does he have a dirty beak? That might be a clue to look for..

Bestest wishes,
Purpod

You can also feed him some cactus. Often if too much catus is eaten it will cause loose stools. But I would think that if everything is as it has been he is more than likely eating it.

His beak seems pretty clean. I soaked him for 20 min in warm water today and still no poop. During and after eating he sometimes makes an almost squawking noise too. It's kinda worrying me.

My tort only poops after (or during!) eating...not during baths yet. Would it help ease your mind to watch him eat and a little afterward to see if he goes?

Hopefully someone else can chime in about the noise.

You know, now that we're talking about this I've noticed that my red only seems to go when I take him out. I mean yeah I've seen him eat his own poop but there seems to be a connection to me taking him out and him going right there and then and I mean HUGE ones, two or three at a time, more than I would give him in equal food at one sitting. I mean maybe it is possible that they dislike going in their own habitat and when I take him out he takes that as an opportunity, or maybe not...

My guys are all over the board on pooping and eating it, although I have never seen a dirty beak on those that do eat it. Most of them will defecate during a soak (I rarely soak however), a couple of them defecate in the water dish... almost every day... usually within an hour of changing it. They do seem to do it more freely outside.

Proper defecation needs several things- good temps, good diet and moderate fiber, good internal hydration, and generally low stress. Check things over point for point, and if you are worried, try the warm soaks every day or two until you see results.
