I had some extra time this evening, so I thought I would start on my enclosure.

Picture 1: Base View attachment 9131

Picture 2: Second Level View attachment 9132

I still have to till the soil w/peat moss and add extra layer of 4x8x16.

The front area, I am building a screen so that I will be able to see into the enclosure from my patio. I am also going to stain the blocks moss green. (To get rid of the prison look) :)

Comments are always welcome

Nice start, and I am a fan of the green, except fluorescent green...

Thanks everyone...it is turining out like I had invisioned, except now that the 4 walls are up, I am not sure 6ftx8ft is going to be big enough. I still have to put in the hides, plants and feeding plate and water dish. I guess I will get it all worked out.....:)

I'm looking forward to seeing it when you have it all finished. Hurry and get it done so I don't have to wait too long. It's going to look nice when it's completed!

DMMJ, thanks for the advice. I have plans for that, just waiting for everything else to fall in place. Hopefully this will be completed this weekend...fingers crossed. Starting a new job next week and this project might get put on the back burner if I don't jump on it now. On my way this morning to get rest of blocks and stain...

Do you guys think two high with the 4x8x16 caps is tall enough with tilled soil and substrate? I was thinking so, but the more I look at it..it might need to be 3 high with the cap.

Your post number 5 says it all. Go BIG! Looks like you can expand the right side over and have it partially tucked under that greenery. The left side hits the tree, but you could wrap it around the tree and the trunk could be IN the enclosure. And finally, the front looks it can come out some too.

The first thing I always say after I build a new pen is, "I should have made it bigger." It does look great though.

New pictures from today...

Got the stain on and the ground tilled with top soil and peat moss.

Tomorrow will finish capping off top and figure out inside plants and things. And the front screen

Comments always welcome.

This is just BEHR Semi-Transparent Concrete Stain applied with brush. Can use roller...I just had brush handy.

Put Gypsy and Iago in there just to see what they thought. They seemed to like the bigger exercise area. At least I won't have to worry about them now.
