Hello! My husband is building this tortoise table so Gabby has more room when indoors. He used a dark stain on the sides, and I’m wondering if I should be worried about fumes? We have more plexiglass he can line it with if needed (bottom is plexiglass lined to protect from moisture). Any thoughts/ideas?

If you want to be extra careful, give the finish a full week to cure. You should be fine though even with a 24hr cure.

The stain will be fine once it dries. be really careful with moisture as that pressboard will explode with repeated water exposure. Otherwise nice. What kind of tort?

Thank you. I didn’t want to cause respiratory issues. It’s been curing outside for two weeks so I guess we’re ok!
We have a Russian who has been at the school where I work and my kids attend. Due to Covid, they needed the space so we’ve taken him in. He has a 2x4 enclosure from school, and this new one with a better hide, and I’ll be building an enclosure outside once it’s warm enough, where he can spend most days spring through fall.
He seems to really enjoy socializing during his soaks while I drink coffee and work.
