I'm wondering if I should cut up tortellini's grass. He eats the grass but always has grass sticking out of him mouth. I guess its to hard to rip. So should I cut up his grass into smaller pieces to make it easyer for him to eat?

Umm why have we not seen pictures of this cute problem? Lol Penny walks around the cage with food in her mouth all the time. She must think it will run out. I have not offered mine grass yet just the green leafy veggies so no idea. But maybe Tortellini just needs some time to figure it out. Can't imagine cutting grass.
another option to cutting up their greens is to chip clip it together. you can put all the greens/grasses together and then clip them with a chip clip. next, bury the clip in the substrate and pack it down tightly so it stays put. your tort will now have a mini bush to bite and tear pieces from just like s/he would if it was grazing outside.

Thats a good idea Heather, grass is so hard for little ones to tear up. When Cooper was small I use to cut it up into small pieces. I tried to use the food chopper but it just made a stringy mess.

Cute pictures. I brought Chuck inside to soak him this morning and he had a piece of grass hanging out of his mouth. Must have been there since yesterday afternoon. He is almost 3 years and lives outside 24/7.

Haha thanks I think he's pretty cute myself. . . I saw him yawn the other day and it was sooo cute I have only seen him do it that one time and it was rite after I turned his light on for the day. . . I love him
