There is no current active studbook for new Radiata, and chances of the original book being repaired or replaced is slim to none at this point. Talks about a private collector book has been tossed around though. For now don't expect new animals to have numbers. So don't be over concerned if you don't have numbered animals as its standard across all breeders of Radiata now as there is no way to get them issued.

Another words ....like the Cherry/ redfoot issue ...now you really dont know the gene lines. I dont breed them myself, just own , and yes it is a studbooked animal . I do own a copy of the Stud book ( didnt realize it was that outdated) ,,,When did Fife, Springer, Dr Z .. stop numbering their animals? To date ( and the last 20 years) I belived these 3 were major players in any Radi' hatchlings in the USA....with most of the animals coming from their adults if they were true capitve bred animals from the USA.

Radiated tortoises, two larger ones r studbooked, and no the larger one is one from bill z.
