My Redfoot's nails look to be getting fairly long (I think?). He has plenty of rocks and places to file these down, I just want to know what sort of length is about right? I just want to make sure they don't get too long to avoid cutting them myself if I have to. He's only 3 so still fairly small. Thank you :)

If you look closely at the nails, you will see a dark line inside the nail...that's a blood vein, trim the nails carefully down to the dark line...use toenail clippers, if it bleeds dip the nail in flour

Would you say then that they should really be just above this line as a good length?

Can you photograph them?
I've kept Redfoot outdoors for decades now. And of the dozens of Redfoot I've kept, I've only needed to trim the nails of just one. And she had lived on Pine Shavings for 4 years
