Red thing coming out?

Hello everyone!️ I have a 1 year and 5 month old boy hermann tortoise today I saw him thrusting backwards and forwards for no more than 5 minutes ...I lift him up and saw a long thick red thing coming out of his bum..it then went back in and when I put him down he went to eat his food...I noticed he has not been pooping as much but I got food fiber food for him and 2 days ago he pooped I gave warm baths but I really dont know what came out of him today if anyone could help is it a penis or somthing from trying to poo?

It's pretty normal at 18 months. It can start happening at 10 months in some cases. He will probably do it less as time goes by.

He is a very handsome and lively looking chap.Our Hermanns tortoise started pretty early too- he was on my husband's desk,( helping him with his computer) - Zola climbed on to his hand, which was curled over the mouse, and started bouncing up and down, and emitting tiny tiny squeaks ! ! My husband called me in alarm, and when I stopped laughing, I was able to explain that he was just practising his mating behaviour !
