I've searched on the Internet for any reptile vets in hk. But I'm not sure whether any of them are trustworthy. Anyone here can recommend me reptile vets in hk?
Sadly, I still haven't got my answer. I'm still on the search of the reptile vet. I have a sulcata tortoise, about 9 months old. I want to always be prepared in case of my tort having any problems, especially health ones. I don't want the fate of my tort lying in the hands of a vet that has little or no experience dealing with reptiles.Looks like you got your answer! Did you try Google? Can you tell us about your reptile and why you want to know about any vets there?
Thx so much that was actually really helpful! Though it doesn't show all the available reptile vets, at least I got something out of it, unlike all the other sites. Again, thank you.I’m not familiar with any reptile specialists in China. Try checking the Association of Amphibian and Reptile Veterinarians webpage at arav.org and go to the “find a vet” tab. You can modify your search from there.

Generally all the tortoises species are protected animals in China mainland so having tortoise at home as pet is illegal and there will not be any tortoise vet open to public. there are pet stores which aren't black markets selling torts, and there were shows on TV showing people keeping torts in UK and they never mentioned any licences needed. so I assume it's legal to keep torts in hk.Generally all the tortoises species are protected animals in China mainland so having tortoise at home as pet is illegal and there will not be any tortoise vet open to public. Of course, there are a lot black marketing tortoise trading in China and many people have them as pets at home. But they usually treat the tortoise by themselves. There is a famous China forum called Baidu Tieba (百度贴吧). There is a lot of discussion there how to treat regular tortoise disease, such as urinary stone, catching a cold, pneumonia, eye problem, Gastroenteritis, rot shell, soft shell, pyramiding, etc in the tortoise sub-forum (陆龟吧)http://tieba.baidu.com/f/good?kw=陆龟&ie=utf-8
But Hong Kong is autonomous region and has its own law, so I am not sure. Maybe it has tortoise vet open to public

Yes. In the past, although it is illegal in China, the Chinese police officer didn't proactively catch those tortoise seller if no one reported the case. But recently, Chinese police started to proactively catch the tortoise breeder. Many tortoise breeders and sellers who are active in the forum I pasted above got caught. One of the Russian tortoise seller, who has more than 4000 Russian tortoise, is even sentenced to death (Russian tortoise is the first class national protected animal in China). The Chinese policemen even started to do entrapment. They will pretend to be a buyer and induct the seller to do a face-to-face trade instead of shipping and then catch seller.Lol I’m a Chinese and i know Hong Kong is the major smuggling hub for the entire China market.

i saw your post whilst checking the address for my vet as I need to get some food. can't bear to hear that if anything happens to your tortoise, you will not be able to find an experience vet to cure the problem/illness, check this vet hospital out, they are very good and I have used them for the past 12 years in HK. they have a 24hr hospital in Tai Wai but if you live on HK island side, they have a clinic in Sai Yin Pun. They are very reputable www.taiwaiexotic.comSadly, I still haven't got my answer. I'm still on the search of the reptile vet. I have a sulcata tortoise, about 9 months old. Your are correct and this also stop all the positive activity around the community. Which in my opinion where very stupid! but I know the Chinese enthusiast were keeping the highest quality exotic tortoise in the world back then because they paid highest dollars. Hopefully they still keeping it.
There are couple tortoise farms in Hainan province . I’m sure they have some reliable reptile vets on speed dial lolI've searched on the Internet for any reptile vets in hk. But I'm not sure whether any of them are trustworthy. Anyone here can recommend me reptile vets in hk?
