Additional questions about a Russian tortoise enclosure:
I know the size should be about 4x8 ft, but I'm having a hard time finding a suitable indoors that will fit it. I might try to place it outside full-time, but my location is sometimes prone to sudden thunderstorms or heavy rain during the night. Do you usually bring the tortoise inside during harsh weather, or will it be okay if it has a covering on top? Also, if I'm placing a covering on the enclosure and it's outside, do I still need to provide a heater/UV bulb? Squirrels, birds, and rabbits often come into my yard as well; do they pose a threat to a tortoise living outside? And I read that weeds and other broadleaf plants should make up most of their diet, are the weeds that are in my yard okay(dandelions, clover) or should I try to grow them myself? I'm trying to get everything that was recommended, but my parents think it's too fancy.
