Hi All,

So my rescue is doing really well, she keeps trying to brumate despite the temp on her basking spot being 95ish degrees. I noticed she are more if I added a small amount of carrot to her salad. The I added kale (I hadn't tried it before cause I don't like it) and she didn't seem to care.
That said I was wondering what the favorite salad receipts were for other tortoise out there.
Just to be clear, not asking what's ok to feed them, asking what recipes the animals like best. [emoji16]

My 'recipe' varies due to what weeds and plants are available, but I almost always have endive and escarole in there. I also grate up a tiny bit of carrot and zucchini. But mainly it's weeds and plants from outside.

My greek is privy to weeds around the yard (dandelion, sow thistle, catsear, kidney weed, chickweed, and mallow) and spring mix. He goes really crazy for sow thistle, which I found out only recently when I identified the weed in the front yard. His favorite is romaine, but I've been reducing the amount to less frequently than when I first started.

Be very careful feeding foods "he likes best". I understand your desire to do what it takes to get him to eat, but you will end up with a picky stubborn tort that will not eat what is good for him. Just like a child with candy.
