As I was bathing tiny tim today and I noticed he's had a few weird spots on his shell. And dr. Google of course always shows the worst thing possible first. But is there really a dry shell rot does? my buddy have it? I took lots of pics his edges are a little see through and his undercarriage is a little sharp around the scutes? I just adopted him for people who only ever fed him salad gave him no baths and made his substrate garden wood chips. Ive made it a coir sand mix with a tarp under his food bowl to avoid him eating the sand and I feed him spring mix with liquid calcium vitamins which he eats up and he likes the nightly bath that I plan to lessen once he gets hydrated. Any who shell damage or shell rot? I ordered nolvasan just to be safe.

It isn't so!! (Well ya did say to say it!) :D I see just some old shell damage, most likely it happened when wild, during capture or even on the trip to this country. Nothing looks like new damage to me, so nothing need to be done for it. You also (like you were told already) have some new growth.

The new growth is cool i get it is just he has strange little white dots that dont come up as well on camera as they do in real life and he was owned by negligent people since he was about 6mnths old but is now about 5 years old

And one of his scutes is peeling in a thick dry brittle layer
