I am having a similar problem with my little one (attached are the pics). After a week they have been in the tank, I bought the UV today. Maybe this was caused by the lack of it? Anyone has any idea on how to fix them?

Hi "eagle":

Won't you take a few moments to start a new thread in the "introductions" section and tell us a bit about yourself?

I split off your question because you posted it under someone else's question about his box turtle. We don't like to mix up the questions, it makes it hard to know which question a poster is answering.

I can't really tell from the pictures, but I don't see anything wrong with your turtle's SHELL, however it looks like his eyes are swollen. This is probably because he's not warm enough and has stopped eating.

@Yvonne: Thanks for this. I didn't notice the thread difference, will be more careful on that.

@Yvonne and ascott: Thanks. I thought the white area (looking like dried) was a big deal. I guess not? But thanks for the great advice on the swollen eyes. I put a heater in the tank and the temp in the tank is 26C which should be ok? I feed them once a day with turtle food (stuff that you buy from pet shops) - just as much that they can consume in 15min I also leave more so that they eat all they can and I put them back to the tank after they stop eating. After the heater I hope they will be fine. Anything else I can do for them?

I am adding two more pictures where you can clearly see the "dried" shell... I dunno but it looks like something is wrong...
