My red foot had a soft plastron for a while. He was about 4 inches at the time. I dried out the layer he was walking on and increased the general humidity, added more calcium and he is fine now. But he was eating. Don't despair. Our guys can heal slowly. Keep up the baby food soaks. When was the last bowel movement?

Maybe its my wishful thinking but I believe they do. Even the bible talks about Jesus coming back on a horse. Why would he just allow horses? So again maybe wishful thinking but I believe animals do to. ;)

just an update for all who have been following. Mahoney is back eating like a little monster. he's becoming more active everyday, waking up on his own and coming out to say good morning without me having to dig him out for his soak. His eyes are open all the time now and he never rubs them any more. I'm constantly making changes to his enclosure and he's loving grazing on all his new plants and tropical mosses and is exploring between every corner. shell is still quite soft but i'm hoping it will harden up with time and diligent care. i'm not so naive to think that he's in the clear but keeping a positive attitude in hopes he will be one of the rare cases that recovers from the shotty breeder care. night and day to where his health was at less than two weeks ago :)

PS...before transferring funds to the seller, i kept asking for a written guarantee as my sister got screwed purchasing an animal online. he finally did so and now has refused to respond to any of my several emails from the time they first started to become ill. he said i could contact him any time with any questions or concerns. what a knob!

Yah I never trust contacts much when it comes to something like this. On the positive its so good to here how things are improving! I have been wondering but didn't want to bother you asking for an update. I thought when you were ready we would here something and so glad we did and with good news! I will keep my prayers up for your little baby and things keep going well for you.
