Your baby tort is way more active than mine. Mine is about 14-16 weeks old and only gets up if I get him up. Other than that he is burrowed all day! He won't move a muscle unless I take him outside. Then he runs like the dickens! When I get him up he will bask for like 5 minutes, eat, and go right back to bed. LOL he's a lazy butt so far!

Well, Lira is kind of a toddler now I guess at around 9 months old, but she still frequently acts like yours too, up, eat, drink, back to bed. It's kind of cute. LOL

Lol yeah I heard through many forums that it's natural till up to 2 years for them to hide a lot. I was panicking at first because people kept saying how big the tank had to be! So I figured he cruised around all day! At first I had a 10 gallon and now I upgraded to a 20 gallon. So far I think it's completely unnecessary as like I said he's a lazy butt so far LOL. After asking about 5 different red foot owners if it's normal for them to burrow all day, I am now satisfied, that it's completely normal. He eats well and runs around outside,(even though I'm pretty sure his lazy butt is running for shade lol) but I keep him in the sun for a bit 2-3 times per day. He is my new favorite hobby! I didn't realize how fun it would be to own a tortoise! I have as much fun as my 7yo!
