I'm having a bit of trouble finding small flat stones for my tortoise's enclosure. I'd like to surround the food and water saucers with stones, serving as little doormats so the tortoise doesn't dirty his food supply. Any suggestions on where I might find them?

Hi, I just found many different sizes and shapes at Dollar Tree in the vase and artificial flowers! I did that, too, around the water dish. Got 4 small bags, might get couple more. Not sure how long it will last, lol (my hatchlings will be here this week!! :) )

Oh, I also boiled them for about 15 minutes to get the paint/shiny coating off. There were bags of smooth, flat, black stones, prob 12-15 per bag for $1. Hope this helps! :)

Thank you both. I'll try the nearest Dollar Tree Store and I'll look around at some of the home improvement stores near me

I used patio pavers from a left over project. But you can buy them individual quantities from a home improvement store.
